Ecosystems

Both water and materials carried by water move through watersheds constantly. This laboratory is monitoring the movement of storm water into watersheds and tracks the movement of water into stream channels. Likewise, nutrients and other molecules carried by water are monitored on a regular basis so that we can have a better understanding of the hydrology and biogeochemistry of watersheds.

We mourn the passing and honor the life of Harry West, Stroud Center volunteer from 1997 to 2007. Harry, as a retired DuPont chemical engineer, worked with the Ecosystems group on many different projects, contributing both his technical talents and his endearing personality. Harry died Sunday, 30 December 1997. Thanks, Harry!
