Gates open at 10 a.m. Support the work of Stroud Center scientists and educators in another way by joining us for spectacular steeplechasing at the ninth annual Willowdale Steeplechase. Watch horses leap over the 12-foot-long water jump, brush hurdles and other obstacles as they thunder to the finish. Between races, there will be free pony rides courtesy of Gateway Stables. Enjoy Jack Russell terrier races, a dog agility demonstration by K-9 Academy of Delaware, vendor and food tents and the popular ECS Kids' Alley tent, featuring fun and educational science activities and games. Enter your child in the new stick pony races for children. It's fun for the entire family - and a great way to spend Mothers' Day!

Teacher Workshops

The Stroud Center's Education Department will be holding a streamkeeper workshop from June 25 to 28 in the New York watershed. This is part of the Stroud Center's Summer 2001 Teacher Workshops program.

July 23-26 - Watershed Education and Leaf Pack Workshop at Nockamixon State Park (with Pa. DCNR & State Parks). Watershed Tour & Project WET Workshop at Stroud Center.

August 6-9 - Watershed Education and Leaf Pack at Promised Land State Park (with DCNR & State Parks).

August 13-16 - Watershed Education and Leaf Pack Workshop at Evansburg State Park (with DCNR and State Parks).
