Meeting Environment and Ecology Standards: How Best Management Practices are Protecting Your Drinking Water |

Why would Longwood Gardens encourage insects on their plants? How can you work with natural cycles to get wholesome food? How can you harvest rain? Field experiences and hands-on activities will answer these questions and more. Fulfill PA Environment and Ecology Academic Standards as you introduce your students to the world of best management practices (BMPs) for agriculture, stormwater and integrated pest management. Learn effective and innovative methods of applying these activities to the classroom as your students learn about protecting water quality.
Participants will receive:
- Continental breakfast
- Field trip visits (Longwood Gardens, Rushton Farm, Villanova University, Valley Forge National Park, Media Borough)
- Resources: handout of activities to take back to the classroom
- Act 48 credit hours (30 hrs)
