Multimedia art is a wonderful vehicle for documenting environmental observations and tapping into non-traditional learning styles. We will explore the science of watersheds through field investigations at the Stroud Water Research Center as well as sites along the Brandywine River. Cultural interpretation of the environment will include at least one museum visit. Workshop topics include watershed delineation, the color of water, how to assess the health of a stream, life cycles, ecosystem services, agriculture and society and environmental best management practices. Activities are aligned with the Environment and Ecology PA Academic Standards. Begin your summer with varied artistic expression as you become immersed in the natural world.
Institute teachers receive:
- Classroom Resources
- Continental breakfast and first and last day lunch
- Museum and field trip visits
- Act 48 credit hours (30 hrs)
